Artist Statement

  

I have been creating art with various mediums all my life. As a child, I was surrounded by art-- my father was an artist and so is my brother.   The passion to create runs deep in my core, and has led me to this moment in time.   I have discovered encaustic as the perfect vehicle for allowing me to express the intense imagery that has been waiting to be unleashed from my imagination. I often conceive dreams that blend together the beauty of mother earth and the cosmos. I am equally inspired by the colors and textures of stone. Just as stone was once flowing lava, the molten wax of encaustic cools to become gems that echo the beauty of nature. The idea of beeswax , dammar and pigments fused together by energy , allowing me to share my vivid thoughts with others , is a blessing to me.
