Born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, Kathrine served in the Air Force for 20 years, continuing to make art, whether job related or just for pleasure. Upon retiring from the Air Force she worked as a graphic artist and studied fine art at San Antonio College, concentrating in ceramics. Kathrine taught classes at Lackland Air Force Base and other ceramic shops. Her work has been exhibited in the San Antonio International Airport, including juried shows, such as the Regional Artist Consortium. The San Antonio Current called her work, "expectant and peaceful". Extreme Makeover, Home Edition selected two encaustic pieces Kathrine created for the final showing in December 2012. She was selected as one of 3 finalists at the Smithsonian’s Museo Alameda juried show, March 2012. Kathrine 's current creative focus is in encaustics. Her encaustic paintings are derived from her imagination of how she sees nature and the cosmos. She frequently donates her artwork to benefit charitable causes and is represented by AnArte and Long Hall Galleries of San Antonio Texas.
